In the Spring of 1994, Sunshine Agency commenced CPR training under the guidelines and curriculum of the American Heart Association.

 

        The purpose of "The Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers"    (Course C) to provide information and technical skills necessary to help prevent, recognize warnings signs of, and provide early basic life support during cardiac arrest and/or respiratory arrest.

 

        Both new students and 2 year renewals will be taught. The course will satisfy any related job or CEU requirements.

 

       An American Heart Association card of successful completion will be issued  and a certificate of participation will be presented.

 

     The Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers addresses each of the following areas:

  • Basic  Anatomy  and  physiology of  the  cardiovascular  and  respiratory systems.

  • Cardiovascular diseases

  • Principles of Prevention

  • Warning signs of a heart attack

  • Actions for survival

  • Technical aspects of:

    Cardiopulmonary resuscitation

       one rescuer adult

       two rescuer adult

       one rescuer pediatric

       two rescuer child

       mouth to mouth ventilation

 

Foreign Body Airway Obstruction Management

       adult

       child

       conscious

       unconscious

 

Seating is limited so enroll early.

 

     The technical aspects of the program must be demonstrated by each participant to a satisfactory level of performance.

 

      Each participant is required to take and pass the Course C test for a successful completion.
